Fall 2021 – present

The Dixie Friend Gay work is a series of mosaics depicting a variety of animals in natural environments set in six alcoves near the river. The artworks are located underneath Waterway Ave bridge in The Woodlands, TX.

OnAim has been caring for these mosaics since 2017. Initially, the work had missing tiles due to deteriorated grout. The concrete bridge also leeches calcified deposits on some of the surfaces. OnAim contacted the artist and sourced the original tiles used in this installation. The missing tiles were carefully configured and applied to have a visually seamless repair. Once all tiles were replaced, all mosaics were regrouted and then sealed.

Due to the continued problem of the calcified deposits and the mosaic’s location in a busy pedestrian space, OnAim has maintained a consistent process and schedule. This has prevented the need for replacing tiles, regrouting, and has preserved the original artwork.
